2025 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

The Governor's Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction awards $55,000 in scholarships to Wisconsin State Fair livestock exhibitors. 

The Blue Ribbon Sale of Champions Foundation will offer $55,000 in scholarship awards in 2025:

  • One $5,000 scholarship

  • Three $3,000 scholarships

  • Seven $2,000 scholarships

  • Twenty-Seven $1,000 scholarships

 

These scholarships recognize the achievements of Wisconsin State Fair Junior Livestock exhibitors and assist them with their educational expenses.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Individuals must be between the ages of 17-19 as of January 1st, 2025.

  2. Individuals must be a current or past junior livestock exhibitor who has exhibited beef, sheep, swine and/or goats at the Wisconsin State Fair.

  3. Individuals must pursue a post high school education and be enrolled or planning to enroll in a University, Vocational/Technical School or University short course.

  4. Only one scholarship will be awarded per individual.

 

Scholarship Procedure:

  1. All applicants must complete and submit a Blue Ribbon Sale of Champions Foundation scholarship application online to be submitted no later than Friday, April 18, 2025.

  2. 38 recipients will be chosen from the applications received by the scholarship committee.  The top 11 finalists will interview for the top awards.  These are one-time scholarships.

  3. Applications will be judged on the following basis: 

    1. State Fair participation

    2. Leadership activities

    3. Scholastic achievement

  4. Each of the top 11 finalists will be interviewed on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 to determine the top scholarship winners. Interview dates and times are subject to change based on Wisconsin State Fair schedule.

  5. The top candidates will receive the scholarships regardless of species exhibited.

  6. Winners will be recognized at the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction on Wednesday,  August 6th, 2025.

  7.  The scholarship will be paid to students after receiving a copy of the class schedule for the 2025 fall semester, which must be received by September 1, 2025.

  8. The Blue Ribbon Sale of Champions Foundation reserves the right to adjust scholarship distribution based on the number of qualified entries received.​
