BLUE RIBBON SALE OF CHAMPIONS FOUNDATION

AWARDS $7,500 IN SCHOARSHIPS

The Blue Ribbon Sale of Champions Foundation (BRSCF), has announced the recipients of the 2010 Governor’s Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction Scholarships.   The Foundation awarded five $1000 scholarships and five $500 scholarships.

Camp Of Champions

The Blue Ribbon Sale of Champions Foundation sponsored the 2010 Camp of Champions.

The Camp of Champions has been designed to enhance the educational experience for junior beef, sheep, and swine exhibitors whose animals have been selected for the auction.  The exhibitors are required to stay with their animals through the end of Wisconsin State Fair and  the  Camp of Champions gives them the opportunity to share knowledge and accurate agricultural information with Fairgoers.

 

Wisconsin Livestock Breeders Association Livestock Show Camp

The  Blue Ribbon Sale of Champions Foundation was a major sponsor of the Wisconsin Livestock Breeders Association 2010 Showcamp.

WLBA’s Livestock Show Camp is held annually at Wisconsin State Fair Park.  Since it began, over 750 Wisconsin Youth have participated in this hands-on experience in showmanship techniques, fitting – preparing their animals for showing, ethics, management skills and livestock evaluation.

2011 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS ANNOUNCED

The Blue Ribbon Sale of Champions awards $10,000 in scholarships at the

2011 Governor’s Red, White & Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction.

 

The Blue Ribbon Sale of Champions Foundation (BRSCF), has announced the recipients of the 20101Governor’s Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction Scholarships.   The Committee sponsored four $1000 scholarships, four $750 scholarships and six $500 scholarships. 

 

The winners of the $1000 scholarships are Taylor Fritsch, son of Tom & Cheryl, Cobb, Jessica Radcliffe, daughter of Renee and the late Jan, Weston, Tierney Reilly, daughter of Brian and Jayci, Shullsberg, Hope Schlimgen, daughter of Dennis and Lisa, Blue Mounds.  The four $750 scholarship winner are Jenna Langer, daughter of Randy & Sue, DeForest, Abby Sattler, daughter of Darren & Cheri, Chilton, Kelly Vierck, daughter of Steve & Dawn, Juneau, and Kelly Wirkus, daughter of Allen & Barb, Edgar.  There were also six $500 scholarships.  They were awarded to Ethan Andre, son of Richard & Heidi, Beloit, Cody Kleven, son of Randy & Linda, Janesville, Erica Langholff, daughter of Darin & Kim, Wisconsin Rapids, Justin Lillesand, son of EJ and Lisa, Sheboygan Falls, Nicholas Colle, son of Michael and Susan, Luxembourg, and Taylor Wenck, son of Max & Linda, East Troy.

 

Given on an annual basis, the recipients are recognized for their leadership skills, academic achievements, accomplishments as Wisconsin State Fair Junior Livestock exhibitors and potential as future contributors to the livestock industry.  The awards are used to assist them with their educational expenses. 

 

The Mission of the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction Committee is to educate and encourage youth exhibitors to produce high quality livestock that will provide wholesome and nutritious products, to provide a platform for enhancing and strengthening the agriculture community of Wisconsin, and to foster better understanding of the agriculture industry throughout our society.
