A “Friend" of the Governor’s Red, White & Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction

                       

The 2010 auction will be held on Wednesday, August 11^th in the Coliseum at Wisconsin State Fair Park Fairgrounds in West Allis.  As you know, the auction is a highlight for Wisconsin youth who have worked hard all year to achieve Grand, Reserve or Breed Champion status and win a coveted spot in the auction.  Besides the auction itself, the BRSCF awards $7500.00 in scholarships to youth livestock enthusiasts and spotlights auction exhibitors and buyers at the  “Camp of Champions”.

There are multiple ways to become a “Friend of the Auction”.  Your support is crucial to the future of the junior show livestock auction.  Please join in the fun on Wednesday, August 11^th and consider supporting us by contributing to the foundation and becoming a program sponsor.  

Please review the attached information and return the included form.  All “Friends” who complete the form and return it with your payment by July 30^th will be listed on our banners displayed in the coliseum on auction night and will also be on display in the “Camp of Champions” barn.

2009 Key Facts

• 27 animals were sold in the 2009 auction
• The 2009 auction raised a total of $111,950
• All auction proceeds benefit Wisconsin’s youth
• 10 scholarships were awarded in 2009 for a total of $7,500

2010 Features

Special thanks to Case IH for putting the “Red & White” into the Governor’s Red, White & Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction by giving it a new energized look and feel!  Heisman Trophy winner and former University of Wisconsin-Madison football star Ron Dayne will be on stage at the auction providing inspiration to attendees and youth in attendance. Bidders will have the opportunity to bid on the chance to spend time with Dayne on the golf course as well as bid on an autographed jersey and other autographed items. 

The Badger pride continues as former UW-Madison Athletic Director, Pat Richter, is on hand to mingle and take pictures with the crowd. The excitement level will only grow with appearances by the beloved Bucky Badger and a performance by members of the UW Marching Band, infamous for their fifth quarter shows at Camp Randall!  To top it all off, guests will also be treated to special Red, White and Blue Tailgate Party provided by fair favorite, Saz’s. 

The auction is the Blue Ribbon Sale of Champions Foundation primary fundraising event offering the opportunity for Wisconsin’s youth in agriculture to promote the livestock industry while enhancing and strengthening the agricultural community of Wisconsin. Proceeds from the auction contribute to the Blue Ribbon Sale of Champions Foundation Scholarships, Camp of Champions and the Wisconsin Livestock Breeder’s Annual Show Camp. Hundreds of young exhibitors benefit from the proceeds of the auction each year. 

Friends of the Auction will be listed in the program for a minimum contribution of $100.  Other sponsorship opportunities are available.
